It’s Not a Tumor!

Well, maybe it is. I’m not really sure what to think at this point. Are you confused? Well, let me clear things up a bit. Do you remember a while back when I mentioned the ugly bald spot on my head? You don’t? Well, click on the link I gave you to read it again. I’ll wait.

Anyhoo, back when the Dirty Party Cycle and I went on our last adventure, he actually noticed it. He said, “Why do you have a hole in your head?” “Shit,” I thought. I guess it’s getting bigger and more noticeable. I summed it up to helmet wear on my head, and left it at that. Was that really the case though? I’m not sure, but I wanted to rule it out before I went to the doctor. Here is the latest photo.

I didn’t have a fresh haircut in this photo like the last one I took, so it’s a little less noticeable. However, if people other than Little Miss Sunshine are seeing it, then it must be a big deal (I don't let anyone else get that close.) The DPC and I did some investigating while I was wearing my helmet, and we both figured that it was the culprit. I am too cheap to go out and buy a new helmet, so I did the next best thing (other than riding sans helmet.) I made a small modification to my current lid.

I glued these two little pads onto the helmet, hoping that it would reduce the wear I was getting on the back of my head. I’ve only ridden once since then, so I don’t have any scientific evidence to throw out here just yet. Coupled with the fact that we have had nothing but shitty weather for the past few days, I don’t know when I’ll get back to riding. I’m hoping that I will eventually see some results though. I have to. I am scared to death to go to the doctor, for fear that he will laugh at me. I’ll report back with my findings one I have something to report.
