Fun Friday

It’s been a long week.  You know, since most of you hung around to hear four days about what I did last weekend.  A new weekend is upon us, and I’m ready to have some fun.  I’m on call for work, which means I may not do anything.  I’ll give it a shot, which starts here with Fun Friday.

Great way to start off the weekend.  I guess I only used that because it’s bicycle related. 

Anyway, now we can go with the obvious (and not bike related.)

Yeah.  Get the hell out of here.  Go have some fun and quit reading this crap and nonsense.

Fun Friday

We made it.  It’s time to celebrate…

The little lady sent me these, so I thought I would share.  Sure, they don’t have shit to do with bicycles, but I think the “Nonsensical Crap” up there at the top covers this part.

Horse balls.  Say that out loud at work all day.  I bet your weekend will get here a lot faster that way.

Testing

I’m busy. Way too busy to be on here posting a bunch of nonsense. I’m busy with other nonsense, if you must know. I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow. Let’s just say that I’ve been looking for things, and planning for other things. It may be interesting, but most likely it will be about the same as usual around here.


Since I won’t be blessing you with my words, I’ll give you something else. Yes, another video. This is from my trip to Bent Creek a little while back. It’s the last of the footage I had from my GoPro, so I thought I should put it on the Internets. It’s from what I think is the best trail out there at Bent Creek, a little gem called Green’s Lick. The trail is fun, super fast, pucker your asshole kinda downhill. You go a lot faster than you want to on this section of singletrack goodness. The danger factor and penalty for failure is pretty high; just the way I like it.

The first park of the video is the trail, followed by a fast, smooth fireroad descent. Even though it’s fireroad, the loose gravel combined with excess speed can be tricky. I dig that. I also went in a different direction with the music, using a little Flogging Molly. Enjoy.

Fun Ridin’

Yeah, we’re stupid.


I don’t have much going on right now, especially with 6 Hours of Warrior Creek in the rearview mirror. Since we didn’t have anything better to do, the DPC, Little Miss Sunshine and I went out for a little urban ride. It was Little Miss Sunshine’s idea.





It was pretty uneventful I guess. We hit all the usual stuff: curbs, hills, patches of grass between buildings, etc. It was good to get out and spin the wheels for sure. I can’t always get out and ride a trail (and I don’t care for road riding very much), so this is the next best thing, even if we have to ride on the road a little.





Yeah, I prefer the trail. Sometimes though, things can get interesting around town:




It’s always nice to see critters while out on the bike. No matter how short of a ride it is, there's always a chance of seeing something cool. Too bad those feathered creatures don’t know how to ride. Wait, they can fly. That pretty much kicks bicycling's ass.


So what, I’m slacking today. I can’t shit out a gem everyday (or most days.) Maybe I’ll have some kind of ride report Monday (on a trail.) The weather has been delightful once again, so I’m all about enjoying it. Much better than sitting around on the computer. If you insist on doing that, then stay right here until I get back.
