What Will I Do?

I found this photo on the Internets from my race last Sunday at the Tiger Rag, so I bought it. It was taken by Outdoor Event Photos, and I thought it turned out pretty nice. You can even see the details on the wheels George built for me. And of course I look dead sexy in my Bike29 kit.

There will be no racing this weekend. In fact, the next Southern Classic Series race isn’t until the beginning of August. I have a big break from racing, unless I choose to check out one of the the Summer Series races in the meantime. I guess it will be nice to take a break. Usually I sit around getting bike stuff ready on Saturdays and travel all over the place to race on Sundays. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. It was wearing me out, and that may be why the promoter has a huge break right in the middle of the summer. I could use a break.

I actually have some plans though. Sunday we’re shooting for a Tarheel Trailblazers Kids Ride, and it looks like the weather might actually cooperate this time. It will be hot, but probably not raining. I like that, because we need to get this kid thing going again.

Tomorrow is a surprise. I’m taking Little Miss Sunshine on a secret bicycling trip, and all I can say is that it involves mountains. It will be fun, difficult, hot, etc., but I’m looking forward to it. I think she’s a little worried, but that’s okay. I should get some good stories (and more importantly pictures) out of it.

Monday is a holiday, so I won’t be here. If you live here in the U. S. of A then you’ll be out celebrating our nation’s independence, unless you’re some kind of terrorist or commie. Most people will probably be getting drunk and blowing their fingers off with firecrackers. I’ll just watch from a safe distance.

See ya’ll next week…on Tuesday.
